WE PROVIDE PASTORAL COUNSELING SERVICES ONLINE

We specialize in Creation Therapy, a biblically based approach to behavior change, and provide online pastoral counseling services, sometimes referred to as telehealth, teletherapy, or technology-assisted counseling.  Doing counseling online can be helpful for several reasons: 

  • You can receive counseling from the privacy and comfort of your own home or convenience of the office
  • Avoids the hassle of traffic and saves on drive time
  • Scheduling a counseling session during your child's naptime or bedtime can help eliminate the need to find childcare
  • It can be a helpful option for someone who is disabled, hospitalized, or on medical bed rest
  • Some children and teens may find online counseling a more comfortable alternative to the usual counseling office setting
  • No long hours spent in a waiting room while your child or other family members are receiving counseling

 

WHAT WILL I NEED TO RECEIVE COUNSELING ONLINE?

Photo by Daria Nepriakhina on UnsplashYou will need regular access to an electronic device equipped with a webcam and connected to active internet service to receive counseling services via online video chat.  Your webcam may already be built into your electronic device.  If you don't have an electronic device already equipped with a webcam, you may need to purchase one from a sales vendor to begin online counseling services (we do not provide or sell webcams).  We like using Logitech HD Webcam C615, in case you are not sure what type of webcam you may need.

 

WILL YOU BE ABLE TO HELP ME WITH MY PROBLEM?

Pastoral counselors board certified by the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA)* are trained in theology and psychology, from a biblical world view, and can address both psychological and spiritual issues.  We offer counseling to individuals, couples, children, teens, and families for many different problems and disorders, including but not limited to the following:

In some cases, a person may no longer feel comfortable at a church or may not prefer to share about their problems with a pastor or counselor on staff at their church, but they may be seeking counseling from a biblical perspective.  We counsel men and women from every Christian denominational background, and anyone experiencing emotional difficulties who wishes to address these matters in the context of religious faith. You may request a free initial consultation to help better determine if our counseling services will be right for you.

 

WHAT IS THE COST FOR ONLINE COUNSELING SERVICES?

In an effort to make counseling services accessible to everyone, we offer discounted rates based on a sliding scale determined by gross annual household income.  Counseling sessions are normally 45-50 minutes in length.  Payment is due prior to beginning each counseling session.  Insurance and Medicaid are not currently accepted, however, some people find that our discounted rates are very comparable to their insurance copay or, in some cases, their insurance does not cover counseling.  Payment for services can be made with any credit or debit card accepted by PayPal.  

The initial 30-minute consultation to determine if our counseling services will be right for you is free.  After the initial consultation, if you decide to begin counseling services with our office, an intake appointment session will be scheduled with a counselor so that the counselor can gather some background information from you, and each individual requesting counseling will be tested using the Arno Profile System (APS) Response Form to determine their unique temperament.  The counselor will schedule a session with each counselee to review analysis results after the test is completed.  What you and the counselor are able to learn from a Temperament Analysis in just one counseling session would typically take several regular counseling sessions to learn without one, so a Temperament Analysis can potentially help reduce the amount of time spent in counseling.  A small one-time fee is charged for each test to cover the charges this ministry incurs to have the results of each test questionnaire processed, and payment of this fee is due at the time the test is administered.

If you aren't seeking full counseling services and only need a Temperament Analysis, that is also an option, available upon request.
